Student Representation
Student Council and Student Representatives
Each group of students at Levels 1, 2 and 3 elects two or three
Student Representatives.
The Student Council takes responsibility for conducting
the elections. These are usually held in the second week of each
semester.
Student Representatives have three key responsibilities:
1. To represent students’
views/concerns on the undergraduate course.
Student
representatives are available to receive comments and views from
students in their Level at any time during the semester. Their
contact details will be published on the relevant Level noticeboard
at the beginning of the semester.
Student Representatives meet weekly through the Student Council
under the chairmanship of the elected president. At these
meetings, all student concerns can be discussed and proposals
made.
Student representatives report the views and concerns of fellow
students to the Programme Director or Pathway Leader and/or Head of
Student Support in the first instance who will seek a resolution
with the relevant member of EBS London management at the earliest
possible time.
Student representatives who are members of the Course Committee
(which meets once a semester) also table the views and concerns of
their fellow students to the programme team.
2. To take a pro-active role in EBS London’s
development.
One student representative from each Level attends the Academic
Board. In these meetings, student representatives are expected to
take a pro-active part in any discussions regarding academic
developments in EBS London. At all times, they must be aware that
they are representing the views and interests of students in their
Level.
3. To contribute to the ‘quality
assurance and enhancement process’.
Student
representatives are active in supporting the surveys of student
opinion through questionnaires (in the distribution and collection
of which they assist) and through meetings with the Head of Quality
Assurance.
